The Bear and the Nightingale
Hello again,
This week I've been reading The Girl in the Tower, the sequel to Katherine Arden's The Bear and the Nightingale. I love reading twists on fairy tales and this series has to be one of my favorites. Arden combines historic fiction and Russian fairy tales into a beautiful story about a young girl growing up. These books will stir your imagination. I especially like the spirits that fill these books, like the Rusulka, a Russian water nymph. All around a fantastic read for mid winter and the snowy season.
